So! Save the dates!
Let’s get the acronym out of the way, yes, it’s STDs. Tee hee hee, ha ha ha. Okay! So now that we’ve gotten that out of our systems, we can use it without further incidence, yes? We sent our STDs out to our closest friends and relatives. (Okay, I couldn’t pass over that one. Smirk.) Since this was the first official item we were sending out for our Big Day, we were pretty excited about it. But we didn’t want to spend a ton of money right off the bat, so they were definitely a DIY effort.
We went to PaperSource, which, as I have mentioned, is a place where I was spending a fair amount of time and earning just a few frequent flyer mile points on my credit card, shall we say. We poked around and thought about fancy shapes, sizes, enclosures etc. but settled on a simple single sheet card. We sat down and designed the card using InDesign, about which I was particularly excited - I have spent more hours than I care to remember slaving away over InDesign at work, so it was nice to use it for a personal project. More construction details below, for those who are interested.
Without further ado, our STD!

Those squiggly lines? Williamstown is located in the beautiful Berkshire mountains. Those of you who are used to West Coast/Rocky mountains will disagree with our use of the word “mountain,” but Williamstown is nestled at the base of the highest point in MA, Mt. Greylock. So, yes, those are mountains. In case you were wondering :)
The bulk of the construction happened with the envelope, since the card itself was so straightforward.
